Ahrend’s Circular Hub breathes new lease of life into furniture.
Created in 2021, Ahrend’s Circular Hub in Veghel gives used furniture a new lease of life - extending its lifespan and contributing to the circular economy.
Since its inception, the Circular Hub is said to have gone from strength-to-strength, growing into a diverse team of over 25 professionals, including circular consultants, revitalisation specialists and furniture brokers.
The Hub’s team of experts operate out of a 12,000 m² production facility and revitalise over 4,000 products every month. In 2024, the Hub refurbished over 66,500 items.
At the Circular Hub, the focus is on quality. The team provides the same warranty to refurbished furniture as they do new furniture. To achieve this, they work with skilled craftspeople who specialise in powder coating, upholstery and painting.
They use original parts and collaborate with R&D specialists to add new components that meet the ergonomic standards.

Increasingly popular amongst clients, the Circular Hub recently supported the design scheme for the Unilever Food Innovation Centre. No less than 95% of the furniture consists of reused products from other Unilever offices.
In order to bring this project to fruition, Unilever's entire furniture stock had to be checked and listed. In the process, Ahrend recorded the condition of the furniture and whether cleaning or repurposing was needed. And also had to ensure that the furnishings matched the colour plan for each floor.
Wherever new furniture was required Ahrend was able to advise Unilever on furnishings made from fully circular materials. Like Ahrend, Unilever is a member of the MacArthur foundation, so the partnership was very much one of synergy.
