Crown Paints has provided products for the redecoration of Hedsor House, a Grade II-listed wedding venue, as part of the recent refurbishment of its guest accommodation.
Family-owned commercial decorating and refurbishment contractor A.C. Beck & Son carried out the redecoration of ten individually-themed bedrooms in just two weeks, working alongside an interior design team from Russell Sage Studio to balance modern functionality with heritage sensitivity.
Given the historic nature of the venue – which was built in 1166 – careful consideration was given to product selection. For the walls, A.C. Beck specified Crown Trade Clean Extreme Scrubbable Matt due to its high durability and ease of maintenance, which make it well-suited to busy hospitality settings. For woodwork and trim, Crown Trade Fastflow Quick Dry Eggshell was used to provide a hardwearing, low odour finish that also enabled efficient application within the project’s tight turnaround.

Each room's design references a different period in Hedsor House’s history, with distinctive wallpaper and décor choices, while Crown’s colour matching service accurately replicated the designers’ desired shades within the Clean Extreme range. The designers’ colour choices were based around the personal stories and memories of members of the Shephard family, who have kept Hedsor House in their family for four generations.
Lewis Couper, associate director, A.C. Beck, said, "This was a really rewarding project for the whole team. Hedsor House is such a special place, and it was a privilege to be involved in giving it a new lease of life while respecting its heritage. With the tight two-week turnaround, it was definitely a challenge – but working closely with Crown and the designer team helped everything come together."

David Thomason, contractor & specification sales manager, Crown Paints, added, “Turning around a project of this scale and complexity in such a short timeframe is no mean feat – especially in a historic setting like Hedsor House. A.C. Beck expertly delivered the project, and Crown Trade products provided the durability, finish and colour precision needed to bring the design of each unique room to life. It’s always great to see our paints playing a part in enhancing the aesthetic of a heritage venue, while also helping to protect and preserve it for future generations.”
