The first of our two seminars at Material Source Studio London this year will take place on 13 November 2025.

We're bringing together two expert panellists: Dale Sinclair, fellow & head of digital innovation, WSP, and Amir Hossein Noori, co founder of AI Hub, architectural designer, AI & design educator, who will join host, Material Source Studio director, David Smalley, on stage, to explore the crucial topic of artificial intelligence, and its role within our sector.

Meet our panel

Dale Sinclair, fellow & head of digital innovation, WSP

Described as a pragmatic futurist, Dale Sinclair is driven to transform project delivery through innovative use of digital technologies and offsite manufacturing. By integrating artificial intelligence into interdisciplinary workflows, he aims to revolutionise how we approach design complexity and future challenges including net zero. Dale's global team is actively engaged in delivering cutting-edge projects, collaborating with clients and contractors to harness the advantages of progressive manufacturing methods including kits of parts and platform approaches.

Having qualified as an architect and with over 35 years of experience, he's played a key role in shaping industry standards, including being the lead author of the RIBA Plan of Work 2013 publications. Recently, Dale has contributed to the field with the publication of the RIBA Plan of Work 2020 Overview and the Security Overlay and contributed to the 2nd Edition of the DfMA Overlay. He's also authored multiple books emphasising design management and the crucial role of the lead designer in the digital age.

Involved in many forums to help stimulate and drive change in the built environment industry, Dale is chair of the UK Construction Industry Council (CIC) Digital Forum, sits on the digital committee of the Construction Leadership Council (CLC), chair the CB/1 committee for the British Standards Institute (BSI), and is an adviser on the Bridge AI steering committee.

Amir Hossein Noori, co founder of AI Hub, architectural designer, AI & design educator

Amir is a London-based architectural designer, creative director, and co-founder of aihub.ai. He studied his RIBA/ARB Part II at the London School of Architecture and is now leading his own studio, AHN, after working for a variety of London-based architectural practices on projects ranging from private residential to masterplanning.

Amir’s passion for the intersection of design and technology led him to pursue an unconventional career in architecture and design where he is not only designing for architectural projects but also leading projects in tech, metaverse, and virtual reality.

On the side, Amir aims to educate architects and designers about the new paradigm shift in the design industry enabled by AI technology. Amir’s workshops have helped more than 400 designers and other creative individuals so far.

Amir was recently described in an interview with architect and television presenter, Danny Campbell, as "the Harry Potter of architecture".

What will the session cover?

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is, of course, no longer a futuristic concept - it's a driving force reshaping the built environment today. From generative design to smart material specification and project automation, AI is transforming how we conceive, plan, and execute architectural and interior design projects.

This seminar allows architects and interior designers to explore the profound implications of AI and digital transformation across the architecture, design, and property sector. The aforementioned expert panel in conversation with David Smalley, combined with your audience interaction, will unpick:

  • What AI really means for design – Clarifying hype versus reality, and how tools like machine learning, data-driven design, and automation are already being used
  • Changing workflows and roles – How AI is redefining the roles of architects, interior designers, and project teams
  • Opportunities and challenges – Identifying areas where AI enhances creativity, sustainability, and efficiency
  • Practical adoption – What you can start doing now to future-proof your practice and stay relevant in an evolving industry.

Whether you’re curious, cautious, or already adopting AI, this seminar is designed to challenge perspectives and equip you with a practical understanding of what digital transformation means for your practice.
