Following a comprehensive refurbishment, the Chamberlain Hotel situated close to Tower Bridge reopened its doors with a sophisticated new look that blends Edwardian grandeur with contemporary comfort.

Located on The Minories in Tower Hill, the hotel now offers a refined “home away from home” experience, featuring luxurious bedrooms with sumptuous beds and stylish interiors. In addition, the redesign introduces versatile new spaces, including a co-working hub in the basement and several fully equipped meeting rooms for hire - catering to both leisure and business travellers in one of London’s most iconic districts.

ILIV’s Omega collection, a distinctive and vibrant flame stitch cut velvet upholstery, features in the bedrooms with its striking pattern and dynamic colour palette. Omega’s richly textured fabric and bold colours draw the eye, creating a captivating focal point that energises the rooms.

Built in 1910, during the Edwardian era, the hotel was named after the ancient office of The Chamberlain of the City of London, a post that dates back to at least 1237. It became a pub in 2000, until its recent reincarnation.

One of the key factors in this was the preservation of its Edwardian character, the original façade remains intact with its distinctive Dutch gables, pilasters and traditional square-paned windows. The Chamberlain is now an elegant hotel, with 64 bedrooms over 5 floors and a proud winner of the Green Tourism, Silver Award.

The refurbishment, designed by Simple Simon Creative Spaces, spanned the entire hotel, with echoes of Art Deco thoughtfully woven into the interiors to reflect the building’s original architectural language.

“For The Chamberlain we were commissioned to completely refurbish all 64 bedrooms over 5 floors. The interiors of all the rooms have a subtle nod to the Art Deco era, carefully reflecting the buildings original detailing to create a cohesive, timeless feel throughout. We produced 6 room designs across all five floors and ILIV’s Omega fabric, used on the armchairs and cushions in all the bedrooms, was key to pulling all the overall concept together.” Rebecca West, senior interior designer
