At onmatter, we are developing circular building materials that offer superior performance while minimising environmental impact.
Every year, vast quantities of hop vines are left behind—once burned or composted, now transformed. We harness the full potential of this overlooked biomass to create high-performance acoustic panels made entirely from hops.
Through our novel process, the plant’s own lignin—its natural binder—is thermally activated to bond the fibres, eliminating the need for synthetic adhesives or additives.
The result is a fully bio-based, compostable material with excellent sound absorption and a distinctly regional identity. Designed for interior architects, furniture makers, and sustainable builders, onmatter panels bring agricultural rhythm and material circularity into the built environment—100% hops, nothing else.
