citizenM makes its dazzling debut in Miami, Florida.

citizenM - the pioneer of affordable luxury hotels - has announced the opening of its first property in Miami, citizenM Miami Brickell.

Since being founded in 2008, citizenM has flipped the rules of traditional hospitality on its head, and this latest opening further expands its global portfolio.

To mark the brand's arrival in Miami, citizenM partnered with Miami born-and-raised artist Jen Stark to create five vibrant large scale pieces of artwork that unite to create one composition for the Brickell property facade.

Located in the heart of the city's bustling downtown district, the 252-room hotel with this conversation-sparking art installation bridges citizenM's playful personality with Brickell's cosmopolitan atmosphere. Inside, eight societyM meeting rooms offer style, tech and unlimited coffee. Plus the hotel also features the brand's first rooftop pool, offering sweeping views of Miami's downtown.

As with all of its hotels, citizenM continues to bring art to the community through both commissioned and existing works. Commissioned artists Theresa Chromati and Lakwena Maciver created inspiring pieces for the citizenM Miami Brickell location. And to give the property an art collection that felt distinct to its location, citizenM hosted an 'Open Art Call' where over 70 artists submitted works inspired by their love of the city.

citizenM Miami Brickell's entrance leads into a non-traditional lobby styled living room that "feels like home", furnished with plenty of books, art and furniture from citizenM's long-standing collaborator, Vitra. The property also boasts two terraces: one overlooking S. Miami Avenue, and the other facing a lush green garden. The guest rooms are optimised for relaxation with king sized beds, power showers and smart TVs.

The opening of citizenM Miami Brickell builds on the brand's US portfolio, bringing the total offering to 9 hotels across the country, and 27 worldwide. Its second property in the city - citizenM Miami World Center - is due to open later this year.
