With Truchet, Impact Acoustic transforms natural fibres, eggshell-derived minerals and mathematical order into an acoustic surface designed not merely to last - but to return.

Named after the 17th-Century French mathematician Sébastien Truchet, the new Truchet wall tile begins with a simple geometric principle: rotate one repeated shape, and an almost infinite number of patterns emerges. Across a wall, its compact 200 × 200 mm modules shift between order and spontaneity, allowing architects to compose surfaces that feel rhythmic, expressive and entirely individual.

Yet Truchet’s most important innovation lies beneath its geometry.

The tile is made from ARCHISONIC® Natura Blends, Impact Acoustic's next-generation bio-based acoustic material. Its composition combines 75% cellulose - including visible coconut or jute fibres - with 25% mineral components. Even eggshells find a second purpose here: their calcium carbonate content becomes part of the material formulation, together with natural fire-retardant salts.

Rather than disguising these ingredients, Truchet celebrates them. Fibres, mineral variations and subtle irregularities remain visible, giving the surface an honest tactility that conventional synthetic acoustic materials cannot reproduce. Every tile carries the natural character of what it is made from.

This material intelligence is matched by a genuinely circular approach. ARCHISONIC® Natura has achieved Cradle to Cradle Certified® Circularity Gold under Version 5.0 - placing it at the highest level of product circularity. It is not simply bio-based, plastic-free or made with recycled content. It is designed as part of a closed material loop.

At the end of its first life, eligible Natura products can be returned through Impact Acoustic's Re:Impact take-back programme and processed into new acoustic material. In a construction industry accustomed to extraction, use and disposal, that changes the equation fundamentally: recycling the existing material can be faster and more intelligent than producing new material from virgin resources.

This is the Königsklasse of building materials - not only reducing harm, but designing waste out of the system altogether.

For architects, Truchet therefore offers more than acoustic performance or decorative flexibility. It demonstrates how geometry, natural materiality and circular engineering can exist within one coherent product.
