sixteen3 debuts Modern Flock collaboration with Erica Wakerly.

Wallpaper design studio, Erica Wakerly has joined forces with contract furniture specialists, sixteen3 to unveil the brand new workplace collection, Modern Flock.

A playful exploration into the evolving nature of workspaces, the Modern Flock range aims to deliver furniture upholstered in a buoyant, design-led surface pattern for a myriad of modern workplaces. Launching during Clerkenwell Design Week at sixteen3’s showroom on London's Bastwick Street, Modern Flock will debut as part of an immersive pop-up display.

The new fabric collection is an extension of Erica Wakerly's Modern Flock wallpaper range and is an exploration into uplifting patterns for commercial use, combining functionality with a playful aesthetic. Consisting of two patterns; ‘Scoop’ and ‘Buzz’, the designs marry neutral tones with energy packed, brighter hues – a reflection of how workspaces are shifting away from traditional corporate aesthetics to embrace styles imbued with personality.

The ‘Buzz’ and ‘Scoop’ fabrics will be upholstered onto a range of sixteen3’s best known furniture pieces and accessories including the well-loved Sedir sofa and Artus panels, as well as the new ‘Ada’ stools and ‘Eden’ planters. And visitors to Clerkenwell can view the pieces for the first time.

Its popular modular Calvert system will also act as a display wall for the fabrics. In addition, visitors can explore Erica Wakerly’s award-winning wallpapers in sixteen3's recently transformed showroom space. With a shared synergy for innovation, integrity, and craftsmanship, the two UK-based brands seek to target clientele that value durable, timeless designs.

Erica Wakerly, founder of the eponymous brand, adds: “Today's workspaces are ever more characterised by softness, comfort, playfulness, and vibrancy; something that inspires my work. It’s an honour to partner with sixteen3 whose pure, geometric shapes of their furniture pieces work as a perfect canvas for these patterns.”
