Masquespacio designs the new Bar TORÖ in Ibiza, using materials inspired by the Mediterranean.

Masquespacio has revealed its latest design for Bar TORÖ, a new establishment in Ibiza. Commissioned by Servitur Group, the management consultant behind hotel chain Typic Hotels, the brief was to create a venue that celebrates the Mediterranean spirit as well as take inspiration from the seaside surroundings.

Located on the edge of San Antonio, with a terrace overlooking the sea, Masquespacio chose a complementary palette of purple-blue, turquoise green and mustard yellow – throwing in a range of indoor and outdoor plants to create a "modern and cheerful" interior design.

As TORÖ is a sports bar serving tapas, the furniture layout and its design includes high and low benches, as well as zones where groups can relax. The higher seating gives people a sea view, while at the end of the terrace, there are large corner benches mixed with rattan seating that gives us a nod to Mediterranean style.

Spanish quotes like "Eat, drink and dance, because the world is going to end" are clear references to the easygoing way of life in Ibiza.

To really make a statement, bamboo is used throughout, on the walls inside and on the columns on the terrace. "It's a material that is a reference if you think about the beautiful island of the Balearics," explains Masquespacio.

The colourful tiles in purple-blue, turquoise green and mustard yellow are by Complementto. The clay flooring is by Cerámicas Antonio Alemán.

LED tubes are from Grupo Lineas TC and the custom-made metal and cushions are from Pau Ferro. The technical interior lighting is courtesy of Onok and signage by Equimag.

Finally, the high stools are from Singular Market and the tree seating trunks – Really Nice Things. You can discover more of Masquespacio's latest projects at masquespacio.com.
