Forbo Flooring Systems’ “Forbo Awards” interior design competition is back for another year. And this year, Forbo is doing things slightly differently, collaborating with us at Material Source Studio to include a PR package as part of the prize.

Forbo Awards – what are they?

Originally launched in 2024, the Forbo Awards are a predecessor of the manufacturer’s long-running Forbo Escapes competition, which it ran for over a decade. The new awards-style contest features three top categories: Project of the Year, Sustainable Project of the Year and Public Choice.

Since its launch, it has been an important catalyst for recognising a wide variety of prestigious projects from within the architectural, interior design and flooring sectors.

The only requirement? Projects must feature flooring from Forbo’s comprehensive commercial portfolio.

Breaking down the categories

With three categories to enter, the Forbo Awards are designed to celebrate a different element of interior design, whether that is a high-end aesthetic or impressive environmental credentials.

With the continuation of building and improving sustainability standards across the industry, Forbo has recognised the importance of highlighting those who are making environmentally conscious specifications, by implementing an award category to reflect this.

While the Public Choice Award allows architects and designers to have their own say on the outcome of the awards, with the winner receiving invaluable peer recognition.
