Benchmark McChesney Bench

Leading British furniture maker Benchmark has been selected as a winner in the UK’s Wood Awards for the McChesney Bench, in the category ‘Production: Furniture & Product’.

The Wood Awards recognise, encourage and promote outstanding design, craftsmanship and installation using wood. The judges praised the McChesney Bench for the sophistication in its simplicity, with its soft curves and organic feel.

Designed by renowned British architect Ian McChesney, the sculptural bench is generous in its proportions, providing a broad platform on which people can rest. The bench curves softly, with a pillowed top and bottom face which together with the natural oiled finish contribute to its organic feel.

With a choice of European Oak or American Black Walnut, the bench is available in two sizes. The Gallery Bench is designed to sit in the middle of a room and is 900mm deep to allow for sitting on both sides. The Foyer Bench is designed to sit at the edge of a foyer or hallway and is 600mm deep to allow for sitting on one side only.
